In the sixth grade, I wore a school uniform that included an oxford cloth button down with a plaid skirt and Sperry topsiders. It was "cool" to wear your dad's billowy, oversized oxford, as opposed to the uniform store brand. I loved this! I loved going into my father's closet and selecting from his neatly organized and freshly laundered row of button downs. I loved how his shirts swallowed my pre-teen body. But most of all, I loved that they smelled like my dad.

What is it about that shade of blue? It continues to have an energizing and comforting affect on me. I will forever associate my dad with blue oxfords. Here are some designs that incorporate that optimistic, (and for me, at least) paternal shade of blue. XO, L
