My son and I are on safari... sort of. We are glamping in Santa Rosa, California at a nature preserve filled with African wildlife. Although I was admittedly skeptical (and our tent is filled with plenty of cliches to justify that reflex), we're having a blast! Our retreat even inspired this week's Best Dressed Home (err, hut?) No. 4 - And Beyond's Mnemba Island off the northeast coast of Zanzibar, which is in East Africa. 

The property is a luxury resort owned by And Beyond, an experiential travel company with outposts throughout Africa. Mnemba Island is arguably the most exquisite in their collection. The setting is breath-taking, and I particularly love how the design doesn't compete with the surroundings but enhances it... frames it. I also adore the earthy palate with subtle pops of blue, layers and layers of texture and the thoughtful incorporation of local grasses, stone and wood.
