My son used to be obsessed with Legos, which we still find (and occasionally step on) around our home. His favorite bricks were the "goldens". They were a slightly metallic brown color. But in his mind, they were magical treasures. They were goldens! Like my little guy, I too find a hint (and sometimes more) of gold sends a shock of excitement through my system. I love adding a golden layer to the spaces I design because those tiny, visual moments make me think of my son and his goldens, create a “bright spot” and spark joy.
