Mountain Home Design Inspiration
“An early morning walk is a blessing for the whole day.”
-Henry David Thoreau
As a Texan, I grew up vacationing in the Rockies. My mom lived in Vail, when she met my dad. I lived, got engaged and married in Big Sky; we honeymooned in Jackson. We learned our third child was a boy at the top of Telluride, spent countless school holidays in Tahoe, and recently enjoyed a favorite family vacation in Snowmass. Needless to say, I love the mountains. I crave crisp alpine air, long for big hikes with bigger views, and dream of retiring in a grove of Aspen trees with my favorite guy. The mountain home in my daydream is one part English manor house and one part European hunting lodge with classical lines, Greek proportions and a decidedly American sensibility. If you aren’t sure how these elements come together, candidly neither do I… but my dream is inspired by homes like these. XO, L
