A Tortoise Shell Moment

I love when chic fashion trends pop up in interior design. It's exciting to see an innovative color, form or texture crossover from the more public, street-style world to our most intimate, private world - our home. So what's the trick to weaving fashion trends into our more permanent home decor without becoming a so-called victim? 

Few ideas in fashion are completely new. More often, a recycled material, pattern or concept is presented in a fresh way. The cut of a jean evolved from bell-bottom to bootcut to skinny. So in my opinion, the trick to crossing over from the runway to the entryway is to stick with "classic trends". And what is more classic that tortoise shell? I think it's time for a spot of retail therapy, don't you? XO, L
