I believe in beauty. I believe it is everywhere. I believe it is powerful, healing and available to us at any moment, if we pause to discover it or create it.

Since my son went blind, I realized beauty isn’t just pretty. He experiences beauty constantly, and he helped me realize that beauty exists in dimensions far beyond vision. There is an immersive, experiential quality of beauty that I hope to capture here.

May you discover some beautiful inspiration (and a smile)! XO, L

BDH No. 06 - Sarah Bartholomew's Green Hills Georgian

BDH No. 06 - Sarah Bartholomew's Green Hills Georgian

Sarah Bartholomew is interior design's latest "cool girl". She takes classic design elements (chinoiserie, bone inlay, bamboo,  stripes and loads of blue) and seemingly effortlessly infuses them with a sense of energy, optimism and a decidedly Southern bent.

When I look at her designs, I imagine there's a dutch door permanently half open that blows in the smell of fresh cut grass and invites in a friendly neighbor. Beautifully styled, the images of her work seem to echo the happy chaos of family life that they seem perfectly suited to accommodate. You can feel her Southern hospitality oozing out of her sun-kissed spaces.

Anyone else craving a sweet tea? Make batch, sugar! Nothing will compliment this week's Best Dressed Home better. XO, L
