I believe in beauty. I believe it is everywhere. I believe it is powerful, healing and available to us at any moment, if we pause to discover it or create it.

Since my son went blind, I realized beauty isn’t just pretty. He experiences beauty constantly, and he helped me realize that beauty exists in dimensions far beyond vision. There is an immersive, experiential quality of beauty that I hope to capture here.

May you discover some beautiful inspiration (and a smile)! XO, L

At Home at the Spa

At Home at the Spa

One of the most important design goals I strove for with our home was to create a retreat - a relaxing, soothing oasis for my family. Don't get me wrong, our home is filled with energy and chaos. But in those stolen, quiet pre-dawn and post-dusk moments, I'm able to appreciate that the envelop in which we live is calming, almost nurturing and even a little spa-like (excluding the playroom, of course).

This got me thinking about how wellness retreats use design and architecture to subtly alter mood, demeanor, posture and even the volume of our voice. Come study a couple exquisite examples of spa architecture and design with me, including The Mayflower Grace and The Ranch. Namaste! XO, L
